Seven (Seven!) New Fantagraphics Classic Comics Volumes
Okay, we know what we expect now. Big thick volumes of comics, lovingly restored at vast expense, shoved in a thick hard cover with a hope that a mainstream market and a very long tail indeed will turn this into a viable market opportunity. A few weeks ago, Jeet Heer unearthed a newspaper profile of Fantagraphics co-publisher Gary Groth at the age of 17. The young Groth was even then interested in publishing — the profile was published in no less an outlet than the Washington Post — but his feelings then were somewhat…well, unevolved.

Here’s something that bound to get you to stop working and completely waste your time. Last night I was e-mailed a link of Diamond’s Spring Book Catalog .pdf ( Products with Release Date from January – April 2010 ). I’m not sure how long the link will work (forever, perhaps). Also please note that, for whatever reason, DC Comics, Fantagraphics, Boom! Studios, Drawn and Quarterly and few others are not listed
